Highlights of the year

2001 - 2002

Sunshine and clouds from Year Two, in front of a Harvest table loaded with produce donated by parents and friends.
The day following our Harevest Festival the Year Two children went to Corbin Court to sing our harevest songs to the residents. They also presented them with the produce from our harvest table.
Mr Christopher Awdry the son of the originator of Thomas the Tank Engine and the present author of the Thomas stories came into school to visit us and read Thomas stories to the children..
Mr Awdry kindly autographed Thomas books for the children. We would like to thank Christopher Awdry for giving his time to come and speak to our children. They enjoyed it greatly.

As a part of our science topic of Electricity, the Year Two children visited the splendid Museum of Electricity in the Old Power Station, Bargates, Christchurch.

In this picture the children are sat on the top deck of a Bournemouth tram from 1914.

Andy gives the children a highly entertaining, amusing and informative talk about what electricity is and how it is produced.

Much to the children's surprise Andy was able to produce electricity from a grapefruit and, using copper and zinc nails, from his own mouth.

A brilliant and educational trip. Great thanks to all at the museum for making it so much fun.
