Highlights of the year

1999/2000

Shiver me timbers, October 1st. was Pirate Day at Pennington Infants - me hearties! Sue Beckett from Hampshire Music Service came in for the day and worked with each year group individually to compose treasure island music.
The results of the millennium bulb planting come to fruition. A group of the children pose amongst the number 2000 planted in front of the school.
The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly puppet theatre made their annual visit to the school on the 10th December. Their show was called 'Max Millenium'
It was with great sadness that we said goodbye to three members of staff at the end of the spring term. Mrs Anne Baker, Year Two teacher, Miss Nichola Price, Year Two teacher, and Mrs Kim Roberts, Year Two learning support assistant.
On a lovely sunny June afternoon the whole school, watched by the parents, took to the playground for some serious skipping to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
We were very pleased to have a visit from Pam and Mike of the Hampshire Fire Service. They came into school with their Fire Engine to make sure that the children of Pennington Infants were aware of the dangers around them.
These 2 Robots, made by Year 1, stood guard over the front door for several months. They have now gone to the great robot scrapyard, but we remember them with affection.
