Godfrey is a very rare short necked giraffe. He lives in Year One at Pennington Infant School. Godfrey likes children who behave well and work hard. In fact he likes them so much that he chooses one child, who has been good, to go home with each day. Godfrey lives in a big red Pennington Infants bag with his friends: Small Dude - a little pink pig, Mr Bean - a small brown bear and a large family of Wombles.

When Godfrey is taken home, he asks that the child fills in a page of his diary. It should have a picture of Godfrey by the child (he does like to pose for pictures) and a page of writing telling what they have done together. You can find some extracts from his diary further down this page.

There are two things that Godfrey loves; one is to be cuddled at night and the other is sausages for his tea (and his very favourite sausages come from Butcher and Butcher in St Thomas' Street in Lymington).

Below are some pictures of Godfrey and his pals. Click on the thumbnail to bring up a large high resolution picture.
