Aims of the school

Living, Learning and Playing Together
“To provide excellence in early education.”

Our Mission

“To prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life. To enable each child in the school to grow to his or her full potential (academic, creative, social and spiritual) in a welcoming and caring environment, and so become the first choice school for the children in the catchment area.”

Spiritual and Moral development

We believe in friendliness, tolerance, gentleness, simplicity and faith in individual responsibility. Spiritual and moral development should be an integral part of all school life and explored through our curriculum areas.

Steps to Spiritual Development

Steps to Moral Development

Young children rarely have the ability to make their own decisions as to what is right and wrong.  Therefore they should grow up knowing which of these things is acceptable and which is not.  Young children will inevitably question and test boundaries, as we did.  Children need boundaries, some form of value system which provides the help and support to enable children to come to their own judgements.

Curriculum

All children will be allowed full access to the full curriculum with learning experiences of quality, which fulfil their individual potential.

Buildings and environment

We will create and maintain an environment which is conducive to learning in the widest sense; academically, environmentally and in relation to society.

Community

We will endeavour to ensure that the school is held in esteem by the local community and is seen as a place of good practice, excellent results and the natural first choice for local parents.

Resources

We will provide, within the parameters of local and National budgets, high quality resources in line with the needs of the National Curriculum.

Staff

We value a positive, open, team culture in which all members are encouraged to contribute thus enabling them to develop to their full potential.

Parents

We value the involvement of parents in the life of the school, both in and out of the classroom and the valuable contribution to education made in the home with reading and other leaning experiences.

Governors

The school will seek to have Governors who are involved in the life and activities of the school.  Governors will be encouraged to take an active interest and involvement in any aspect of the school related to the Governing Body.
