The Old Operating Theatre, Museum & Herb Garret
The Old Operating Theatre & Herb Garret is situated in an intruiging location: in the 'herb garret' of St Thomas' Church - built by Wren's Master mason Thomas Cartwright. Britain's oldest surviving Operating Theatre has been restored with much original furniture, including a 19th Century operating table
To get to the poetry readings (alternate Thursdays) you must walk up a wooden spiral staircase and through a church tower.
