Mrs Killingray

Here is a picture of our deputy head teacher, her name is shown above. She got over excited because of the centurion, he was very interesting and he had lots of things, he even let us do good jobs.

We interviewed Mrs Killingray, Mrs Day, and Miss Eyres. Here is what they told us.

1. How did we get in touch with the centurion?

Mrs Killingray wrote to him and asked him to come. The address to write to is:

Danelaw
Dark Ages Village
Murton Park
Murton
York
YO1 3UF

Telephone: 01904 489966

There are special people there who will come to dress up and talk to children about history.

2. What activities did the children do?
We made oil lamps, games, bracelets and drew Roman artifacts. They learned from the centurion what it was like to be a Roman soldier.

3. Equipment for the day
All supplied by the centurion. He brought the crockery. We needed felt pens and paper and pencils. Mrs Killingray did all the organising. Paid for by the children. (£5 each )

4. Did You enjoy the day yourself?
YES!!! Very much, thank you.
