science and maths in a new report supported by the GA and other
subject associations.
Good Practice in the Use of ICT in Mathematics, Science and Geography
at Key Stage 3 includes the following examples for
geographers:
John
Harris of Radley College, Abingdon, invites teachers and their
pupils to join his MetLink project, in which children round the
world cooperate in a web-based weather observation project. MetLink
is sponored by the Royal Meteorological Society.
David
Gardner of Raincliffe School, Scarborough explains how he uses
role play in a scheme of work on Amazonia to teach children to question
what they read on websites.

In a preface to the report, Michael Wills MP says, The
contributors to this report ... use technology in ways which make
a genuine difference to their subjects. Their approaches could be
taken up by many schools now.
The report is based on a two-year research project part-sponsored
by the DfEE.
It
is may be downloaded free of charge from RMplc
