Analysis of graph: temperature variations Jan 26-30th and Feb2-6th, 1998
My graph shows that the schools with the highest temperatures were those
in Cyprus, Zimbabwe and Spain. The coldest schools were those in Finland
and Sweden. This can be explained by effect of latitude on temperature.
The ones nearer the equator, where the insolation is more concentrated,
are hotter, while the opposite can be said about the schools further from
the equator. My graph also shows that the temperature was less variable
in England than in the other countries. Britain's climate is temperate and
there are fewer extremes while in Finland this is certainly not the case.
In Bilbao the temperature had a very great range (13°C). This may have
been caused by the large depression which we observed crossing the north
coast of Spain and this may have brought more variable conditions.
