In response to your Sunday mailing we are experiencing another very mild
spell in Alberta, mid day temperatures above zero. No winter Carnival here
yet but January is being proposed as a month long series of winter
activities to complement our summer festivals. We have ice carvings
contests, they were held at new year.
For Relative Humidity The wick of my psychrometer froze as I let it reach
outside temps, so humidity readings at 1600 will not be valid. I will have
to try later in the day.I will compare with reading from our two local
weather stations. I was advised to add oil to melt the snow and antifreeze
to maintain it in a liquid state into my raingauge. We are now in a state of
readiness. We will probably receive no precipitation for the observation
period. There has been little snow since new year.

part of another project.
