Banani is located on the plateau at about 1000 metres above sea 
level.
 
Latitude: 14 degrees 40 minutes south of the equator, 28 degrees 04 
minutes east of prime meridian 
 
It is in a farming area of Central Zambia in Chibombo district.  Being in 
the savanna of the southern hemisphere it experiences its rainy season at 
this time of the year, late february to march gives us the most rainfall.  
At our School, the weather station is located on the northern side of the 
school ground in an open area with a hygrometer, barometer, u-shaped 
thermometer, wind vane, anemometer and rain gauge.  
 
A grade 10 class of age 15 on average will be involved in collecting the 
weather data at 1000 hours each day.
