of a slight ridge overlooking the Somerset levels away to Taunton and
Glastonbury. The prevailing wind and rain from the SW is REGULARLY
experienced. Surrounded by mixed agricultural land. 4 miles east of R.N.A.S.
Yeovilton.
 
Time of observations: 1115am GMT
 
Recordings from the remote weather mast atop the Geography Department. 
The anemometerand wind vane are approx. 15m above ground level with no 
immediate obstructions.
 
Equipment: Automatic instruments in conjunction with a WinMet Weather 
Stationlogging device connected to a stand alone PC.
 
Typical weather: Cold with high pressure established but likely to change by 
the start ofthe logging of data at the start of February.
