2. Participants: The students involved are in Year 10 (age 14yrs) and are studying weather as part of their GCSE course.
3. Latitude/longitude/latitude: latitude 51.40N; longitude 1.17W; 70 metres above sea level.
4. Location: The college is near to the village of Radley (population 5,000) in the valley of the River Thames, 4 miles south of Oxford (population 110,000). The surrounding area is mainly farmland.
5.Time of Readings: 08.30 GMT
6.The observations will be taken near to the Geography Department.
7. Instruments: Six's max and minimum thermometer, wet and dry bulb hygrometer, rain gauge, aneroid barometer, ventimeter.
8. Typical weather: in late January and early February weather: average January/February temperatures are 2-8 degrees centigrade with some overnight frosts and monthly rainfall of approximately 60mm with occasional snowfall.
