We are situated in North Oxford. To our west is bustling
Summertown with shops and residentual use and the headquarters
of OXFAM. To our east is open country. Our school fields stretch
for some 60 acres to the River Cherwell, a tributary of the Thames.
Beyond are water meadows and grazing land.
Recording time 08.00 GMT
Observations made at our weather station, just to the south of the
main building.
Instruments kept in a Stevenson screen: a digital thermometer and
hygrometer. A rain gauge just away from it. A hand-held
anenometer will be used.
At this time of year, it is generally cold - below
10€C - and either frosty and still if pressure is high, or rainy and
windy with low pressures.
