Our school fields stretch for some 60 acres to the River Cherwell, a tributary of the Thames. Beyond are water meadows and grazing land.   Recording time 08.00 GMT   Observations made at our weather station, just to the south of the main building.   Instruments kept in a Stevenson screen: a digital thermometer and hygrometer. A rain gauge just away from it. A hand-held anenometer will be used.   At this time of year, it is generally cold - below 10€C - and either frosty and still if pressure is high, or rainy and windy with low pressures.
