Suggestions for integrating the Sensing Science software into Science

Sensing Science can be used with a monitoring device and a Interactive Whiteboard to demonstrate techniques from Year 1.

• Embedding Sensing, Monitoring and Datalogging in the Primary Classroom- suitable for use with either Ecolog or Easysense Q.

Onscreen videos demonstrating how to use different aspects of Sensing Science.

• Meters: The simplest section of Sensing Science is the Meters section which simple uses the datalogger to produce an instant readout of each sensor.
• Table: Table enables snapshot readings to be taken by a simple click of the mouse.
• Graph: Graph allows readings to be taken continuously over a period of time varying from a few seconds to a few weeks. This can be completed with the datalogger attached or remote from the computer.
• Analyse: Both table and graph create both a spreadsheet and a graphical display of the data. This video shows how the graph can be analysed and annotated with or without the datalogger attached.
