Zig-Zag BBC Zig Zag site. Easy to read information and worksheets to print off. Includes a game where Hild has to search the village for different items to take to a feast.
BBC History The adult section of the BBC history site for Anglo Saxons. Includes audio of Anglo Saxon sermon, a page on King Alfred, timelines and other information at an adult reading level.
Time Team Athelney On Sunday 23rd February 2003 Time Team, Channel 4's Archaeology Programme, broadcast a dig recorded at Athelney, King Alfred's hide-away in the Somerset marshes. The site gives information and images from the dig.
Time Team Saxons The Time Team timeline pages on the Saxons. Includes information on religious beliefs, farming, clothing and everyday life.
AngelCynn Anglo Saxon living history organisation. Lots of information in the form of text. Includes photographs of reconstruction of Anglo Saxon clothes and artefacts.
Battle of Maldon Pages describing the Battle of Maldon in which a Viking raiding party defeated the local Anglo Saxons. Maps, diagrams and information in bullet points.

Regia Anglorum Regia Anglorum recreate Saxon, Norman and Viking Britain. The main page has a picture of skinning a deer so if you want to avoid this go to the manor of Drengham
Drengham Manor Drengham is a virtual Anglo Saxon manor. Regia Anglorun are also constructing for real an Anglo Saxon manor house at Wychurst in Kent.
Lothene Lothene are another group who do experimental archaeology by trying to do what the Saxons did.
British Museum Compass The British Museum holds the Sutton Hoo treasure. If you cannot go for yourself, there are pictures of some Anglo Saxons on their Compass website.
British Museum Tour There is also a tour of their exhibits and a simple quiz, plus a worksheet for children to complete as they complete the tour.
