Reading Ladies Boarding School

From about 1754 to 1794 Reading Ladies School used the remains of the Reading Inner Gateway as a school house for the daughters of well to do people. The most famous pupil at the school was Jane Austen, who went to the school for 18 months in 1785 and 1786.
