| The Danish Invasion of 1006 Reading is mentioned
in the Anglo Saxon Chronicles in 1006, when the Danes are again invading.
The Saxons formed their army and were followed the Danes all autumn.
After a period on the Isle of Wight the Danes marched north through
Hampshire and Berkshire to their supply base at Reading. They then went
north and burned Wallingford before returning south. |
