Adverbs
- regular
Adverbs are words that give extra information about the
action of a verb.
In English many adverbs end in –LY. In Spanish they follow a similar pattern and
many end in –MENTE.
They are easy to form:
1.
Take an adjective eg ‘lento’
2.
Change it to the feminine singular form (o > a) eg
‘lenta’
3.
Add on –mente eg lentamente
(Note that if the adjective does not have a feminine form
then just add –mente to the singular form)
When you have two adverbs together both ending in –mente,
the –mente is often missed off the first one.
