A Brief History of Bromsgrove Rovers
Bromsgrove Rovers F.C. was founded in 1885 and competed in their early days in the Studley and District League. In the 1897/98 season they won the championship and were promoted into the Birmingham Junior League where remained for 11 years. From here the Rovers joined the Birmingham combination and were to stay in this league until 1953. With the re-organisation of football they were founder members of the West Midlands league and after being promoted into the Nothern Division of the Southern League which they then won in their centenary year in 1985/86. The Rovers were know in the Southern Premier League and after a good 6 years they gained promotion into The Vauxhall Conference. They have finished second,near bottom and 13th in the League and have recently retained the Worcestershire Senior Cup for 2 Years and beat Kettering by a record 10-2 in the final of the Bob Lord Trophy. The "Greens Have played at the Victoria Ground since 1910 and the record attendance is 7389 in1957 against Worcester City.
