Promotion Candidates Approved...The Vauxhall Conference promotion contenders have undergone final inspections from the Football League. Of the leading Conference sides to have applied for promotion, all three, have attended the League's Criteria for Entry. (Macclesfield Town, Kidderminster Harriers and Woking), a final inspection of Southports Stadium will be arranged later this month. Visits to the remaining clubs awarded the League's A grading, Bath City, Dover Athletic, Gateshead and Kettering Town, have been deferred with the clubs now out of contention for the Championship.

Daggers Taken for A Ride...Around the Conference in 24 hours is the task set for Dagenham & Redbridge on Friday, April 19th, as they make their bid for a place in the Guiness Book Of Records.

Four Drivers will take the wheel for the round England Journey - the Daggers quartet setting off at 2pm on the Friday to pay a visit to every one of the 22 Vauxhall Conference Stadiums before returning 24 hours later in time for the game against Runcorn. The route for this ambitious bid includes trips to each corner of the Conference map taking in Gateshead, Dover, Bath and Morecambe.

African Signing for Runcorn...Runcorn, currently bottom of the Conference, have added an international dimension to the canal street cause with former Nigerian Under21-striker Kelechi Okori joining the club. The 23 year old former St. Mirren forward , who featured for Grimsby Town last month, made his debut in the recent 3-1 home defeat by Dover Athletic.

All Ticket Port...Following consultations with local police , Southport have confirmed that they willstage their first all-ticket game of the season - the Pontin's League clash between Liverpool and Everton in April. The game is expected to attract a crowd in excess of 3,000.

Seven Up for Macca...Macclesfield Town recorded the joint second largest victory of the season when they defeated Halifax Town 7-0 at the Moss Rose Stadium a week last Saturday . The success, bettered only twice in Conference football since 1991, is the Silkmens biggest winning margin in League Football since May 1963.

Hayles Hat-Trick Of Hat-Tricks...Stevanage Borough striker Barry Hales has claimed a place in Vauxhall Conference record books, becoming the first player to claim a hat-trick of hat-tricks in the competition this season. The exploits of the Stevanage Front runner continues to attract the attentions of a host of scouts with intrest growing from both Premiership and Football League quarters.


England Semi-Professional Squad

Tony Jennings, Manager of the England Semi-Proffessional side has named an unchanged squad for next month's international against the Netherlands. The 16 man party includes the Conference dozen, who lent their support to England's 4-0 success over the Republic of Ireland a fortnight ago. The squad for the international , to be played at Conference hopeful's Rushden and Diamonds on Tuesday April 2nd is as follows:-
