A story about Nicaragua 


Carlos and Blanca live in San Pedro. San Pedro is a village in Nicaragua. People in San Pedro get water to drink from a well. One day the well dried up. They had to get water to drink from the river.

A new factory opened. The factory made bricks. It filled the river with thick, black oil. People in San Pedro got sick drinking the water. They wanted a new well.

A woman called Jacinta came to help. She came from the government. At first the men in the village said, "what does a woman know about digging a well?". But they soon found out Jacinta knew a lot.
