GLO LogoNicaraguan Story - part two

Jacinta helped the villagers find a place to dig a new well. It was hard work. It started to rain a lot. The sides of the new well fell down.

Next they hit solid rock. It took a long time to break up the rock with a hammer.

At last water filled up the new well.

"You are not finished yet," said Jacinta "you must cover the well up so that the water stays clean".

Finally, the villagers bought a pump. A pump is a machine to get water out of the ground easily.

One of the men pushed the pump handle. Bright, clean water came out. Carlos and Blanca ran to put their faces in the cool fresh water. Everyone sang and danced.
