The NIAS Science team has the experience and expertise to provide schools, colleges, departments and teachers with a comprehensive and integrated package of support, enabling them to:

• raise the quality of science education for their learners
• improve the effectiveness of their provision
• meet fully their health and safety requirements.

Throughout 2002-03 our key foci will be:

• more effective teaching and learning in all phases of science education, primary, middle and secondary
• exploiting our better knowledge of how pupils learn, thinking skills and multiple intelligences
• raising attainment in all age groups, but specifically key stage 3
• effective use of information communications technology in science lessons.
• comprehensive support for new science teachers

The team has strong links with its subject associations at a national level - the Association for Science Education and other local, regional, national and international bodies. Members of the team are national trainers for the CASE project.
