Policy on Charging and Remission

Schools are not allowed to charge for activities which occur wholly or mainly within school hours. We can, however, ask for voluntary contributions. Below is the Governors' policy on charging and remission.

1. The school aims to provide high quality educational opportunities for all pupils and parental financial support for activities will not affect individual students' participation.

2. For activities which occur within school hours parents should normally be approached for voluntary contributions although the headteacher has the discretion to remit charges from the school budget or School Fund to subsidise any contribution.

3. The wording of any letter sent home to parents must be within the framework of this policy.

All letters which are sent from school, not just those relating to charging, should first be seen by the headteacher or deputy.
