11th January 1999

On Friday the 9th January we were doing rugby practice.Gareth Oliver a P.E. teacher at Moorside High School came to teach us.First off we did some warm ups and stretches. It was a cold day so these were necessary. Then we started practising passing and catching with a proper rugby ball. After we did that we had a small game.We had to pass the ball around the next person and run to the back of their line without dropping it.Our best record was only 21 passes.Hopefully this Friday we'll be getting into a proper game with a wet pitch.I can't wait! We will include some photos of us playing rugby next week

This is our local MP, Ian Stewart. Ian was born in Scotland but moved to Irlam when he was a child.Ian Stewart lives in London from Monday to Friday. He workers very hard, and he is a very kind man. He welcomed us into the Parliament. As you can see there is a picture of Ian Stewart above. He treated to our tea we had soup and chips. He helps people solve their problems. He has got two children. He only sees his children at weekends.

Some times Ian Stewart and his workers go to work at 9.00 AM and sometimes go to work at 2.00PM and they work all night.{sometimes].When they have to vote yes or no they go into a room[ two different rooms] and vote. When we went there we saw Tony Blair, he made a speech about Iraq.

In the Houses of Parliament there are two rooms. There is the Houses of Lords and the Houses of Commons. In the House of Lords the place is full of gold things. The seats are red leather. In the House of Commons they had green leather seats and only the M.Ps are allowed to sit on the seats.

When you walk in to the House of Commons you can rub your elbow on a brass man for good luck. When you walk in to the House of Commons you have to bow to Betty , the chairwoman, when they walk in at a line.

The seat that Betty sits in used to be a toilet.
