Today in Science we have been designing well-insulated houses. Most heat goes out through the windows, walls, roof and floor. To stop heat going out through the roof we can insulate the loft with mineral wool which traps the heat. We can have double glazing which traps the air between the gap in the middle of the two panes of glass. On our floors we can put underlay and carpet to stop the heat escaping from the floorboards. When the walls are built, they are done in two layers with a cavity in the middle to trap the air.

In my school we are doing some revision for our G.C.S.E. exams so that it will help us to get a good job. I am also redrafting some of my coursework in order to get better marks. We are also doing a lot of activities like soft ball , five a side football and running. I had my parents evening yesterday afternoon and I got a lot of good reports and no bad ones. The Swinton High school also have their own cross country and they take you on trips to France and Spain they also take you to Austria to go skiing in the winter. The high school also takes you to other schools to put on a play about going to high school we called the play hopes and fears and it is supposed to explain to the children that high school isn't always the same as what people tell you about it.
