Tuesday 3rd November

We are all refreshed after our week off and raring to go !!

Crucial Crew trip is run by Salford police department. We went yesterday and Laurence and Lloyd will tell you all about it.

Crucial Crew is all about keeping safe from things like fires and drugs. There are 9 rooms to go in .One of them had a road safety game where you had to answer some questions and cross the road by stopping, looking and listening for traffic, then crossing over and putting the answers under the picture that you thought it was.Another room had a man talking about drugs. He showed a sample of drugs and sweets mixed up together. If you thought it was a drug you had to jump to one side. If you thought it was a sweet you had to jump to the other side. If you did not know you just stayed in the middle. It showed us that we had to guess the answer and the dangers of guessing if you were going to eat one.In another room two people from North West water were talking about very deep water. They told us the difference between the swimming baths and the banks of the reserviour. There was a slide which you could try to get up without using your feet, this represented the banks of a reserviour and how difficult it would be to get out.In room 3 there was a man who told us all about Bogus officials. He told us a little rhyme about them"If in doubt, leave them out."

Overall, we learnt a great deal and went home with a goodie bag full of leaflets, activities, pens and general information. Thanks very much to the Salford police department as we really enjoyed ourselves.

My name is Susannah Mather.I have been to this school before. I have come back because I moved in with my dad and my brother, I like it at St Peter's school.I have a lot of friends at this school. At home I have had four dogs, four cats, three gerbals, one hamster, three budgies. My favourite teacher is Miss Harland. In my old school there were a lot of bullies . I was bullied nearly every day, at my old school I did not have any friends at all.

QUIETLY

As quiet as the winter breeze

Quieter than a rat steeling cheese

As quiet as an autumn rainy day

Quieter than an owl hunting prey

As quiet as my silent thoughts

Quieter than my gliding fish.

(written by Faysal Ahmed).

The writer of this poem

Is as bold as brass

As strong as a boxer

As funny as a jester

As clever as a spy

As healthy as an apple

As thin as a bumble bee

As clever as a calculator

As fast as a jet.

My name is Adam Fairclough I am from The Swinton High School, I am here to help around the class at the school. At my school it is a bit different to here, it is alot bigger than St.Peters and instead of having one class room you have many different ones which you have to go to at the bell. At the school there is a big art department where there is a lot of different types of art that you can do, these things are drawing, painting, model making and cloth work. If you like P.E. you will take part in lots of games and sports such as football, netball, volleyball, swimming, athletics and many more! The school is good and the teachers are all quite friendly.
