The
Muscles
Every joint in your body is controlled by muscles which are bundles of fibres forming the flesh. Muscles are usually in the shape of long thin cells called fibres. They are fastened to the joints by fibrous tissue called tendons. Muscles are arranged in layers one on top of the other to give efficient control to every moving part of the body. Movement is brought about by contracting or relaxing the muscles. When you bend your elbow you can feel the hard lump of contracted muscle called the biceps under the skin. The muscles give strength to the limbs and the stronger your muscles the stronger you are. The muscles in your face enable you to change your expression. Some muscles operate even when you are asleep.
