ardiff Learning Schools ProgrammeCardiff Advisory Service for Education (CASE) is an Associate Partner of the OU/RM Learning Schools Programme which is an Authorised Training provider within Wales, under the NOF ICT Training for Teachers Initiative.
The New Opportunities Fund (NOF) ICT Training Initiative is providing £230 million over 3 years, up to Spring 2003, to train serving teachers and school librarians in the use of ICT in subject teaching. All serving teachers, current as well as newly-qualified, need to know how, when, and when not to use ICT in subject teaching. The NOF will fund the training needed for this professional development.
Cardiff LEA will support teachers undertaking this training programme through on line conferencing, email enquiries, the INSET programme and web based resources. This support will be provided by Link Advisers (for whole school planning with senior management in schools) and Subject Advisers/Advisory Teacher (for individual teachers within their specialist subjects).
