ACCE will negotiate the purchase of software and documentation, through bulk purchase and licence agreements, in order to provide schools with software at reduced costs. E.g. Junior Pinpoint, RM Detector kits. |
Publications
An online newsletter ACCENT is available on the ACCE, offering advice and practical guidance to schools on many aspects of IT.
Facilities
The Centre has two fully equipped training rooms - one with a network of 15 RM Pentiums and a multimedia studio and one with standalone RM and BBC computers.
Latest versions of the major software applications for word processing, data handling, desk top publishing and spreadsheets are used, such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Publisher and Powerpoint.
All training room have colour data projection facilities and Internet access
Several rooms are available for the design, authoring and production of webpages. Guidance and support is available for the design and production of Internet 'homepages' for schools
The multimedia facilities include a full S-VHS editing suite, DAT editing, CD-ROM mastering facilities and digital imaging equipment. Work has been undertaken for BBC Wales and our staff have a wide range expertise in generating materials and compiling CD-ROM productions.
