Language no barrier for these students
SHAW Houset teachers swapped notes with their continental counterparts when
they travelled to Austria to meet a delegation of Czech educationalists.
During the visit the teachers were able to observe Austrian students working
on European projects on the Internet, which will soon be accesse by Berkshire
pupils.
The possibility of electronic communication between schools in Austria and
Newbury was also discussed. Wendy Sturgess, head of careers at Shaw House,
commented: "The message which came through was that Information Technology
is definitely the new language of Europe. "Communication barriers pale
into insignificance once you have logged on to the Cyber world of the lnternet."
