Mercury is a small, rocky planet  - much like our Moon. It is covered with craters and has changed very little from when it was first formed.

Mercury is the nearest planet to the sun. The temperature in the intense sunlight is hot at 420° c. At night it is 180° c. It is impossible to live on there.

Mercury has lots of craters and mountains. It rotates very slowly and aliens do not live on Mercury.

This false color photomosaic of Mercury is composed of images taken by the Mariner 10 as it flew by the planet after the first encounter in March 1974.
