I CHILDHOOD (356-341)

Alexander was the eldest son of Philip. He possessed the bloodline of the royal house of Epirus and held lineage to Andromache and Achilles on his mothers side, and Heracles on his fathers side. He had a hard expression and a hard, loud voice, while he was not immense in stature, he was blessed with good speed and outstanding stamina. Alexander was one of sharp intellect, and at the age of 14 Aristotle was brought to teach him. He maintained a high public profile throughout childhood, openly accepting any challenges to his self-imposed authority.
