Festivals

Welcome to the Festivals of Ancient Greece.

So! You wanna' know about Greek festivals. Let me tell you then. The Greeks loved to party; and party hard! They reveled in feasts, wine, and sports, as well as after-dinner discussions (called 'symposia'), and arts. Included in their festivities were competitions in MUSIC. Every town held its own musical contests and competitions. The most famous of these were the Pythian games. People would come and play different musical instruments. A panel of judges would decide who won, and the winner(s) would receive an award (usually money).

Well, now you're the expert on Festivals in Ancient Greece--pretty tough stuff-huh?!
