Narcissus was young and beautiful. He was loved by boys and girls alike. Narcissus refused the gift of Aphrodite and denied anyone who tried to loved him.
One day Narcissus came by a pool and saw his reflection
in the water. He immediately fell in love with the image, taking
it for someone else. Narcissus was not aware that he was in love
with himself. Each day he stared and talked to the reflection
in the water, but he couldn't possess the image in the water. Consumed
with despair, he drowned himself in the pool. From where he died, a flower
bloomed, which we call by his name.
