Soil in Greece
Greece has poor soil for farming. In the valleys there is thin layers of humus. Fig trees, olive trees and vines is what is usually grown there. You won't find much of anything else, except for little thorny shrubs. Some people grow wheat, but that usually depends on where they live. There is not enough wheat grown in Greece to feed all of the population. Forests fill 9.3% of the country's area, which is not a lot at all compared to the United States.
