RIVERS
The Pinios, Axios, Strymon, Nestos, and Evros are the only rivers of considerable
length in Greece. They are found in northern Greece; primarily in Macedonia,
Thessaly, and Thrace. These rivers supply the fertile flood plains. But most of
the rivers in the rest of the country go from extreme drought in the summer to
almost flooding in the rainy season.
