With the new Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage just been published by the DfEE, we wanted to support teachers in developing their ICT with this important age group. As we knew little about it ourselves, we set up a working party to research this area. The findings will be disseminated at a meeting for Foundation years teachers in the Summer term 2001, and on the Internet. Details of how the working party progresses will also be published at this address.

Method: There will be a choice of three afternoon sessions for one Reception and/or one Nursery teacher from each school to attend. A contribution of £50 will be given towards the cost of supply teachers on completion of a short course evaluation form but only if the Reception or Nursery teacher would have been working on the afternoon of the INSET. There may possibly be places, although not funded, for Nursery Nurses or Learning Support Assistants, depending on numbers, to attend as well.
