This is the egg packing factory in 1907. The eggs were collected from farms in the Framlingham area. It was the largest society of its kind in England. It is now a derelict site (see below). Many local farms still produce eggs through battery farming on a much larger scale and the eggs are sent to supermarkets and shops all over the country. Much of what was produced locally was bought locally, but now fresh produce, such as milk, vegetables and meat is coming in from a much wider area.
