The site of the old Mills Grammar school for girls is now Mills Meadow Nursing Home for the elderly (below). The grammar school closed in 1979 when Thomas Mills High School opened as a comprehensive school.

The gates and the railings were kept and the bell tower is now in an inner coutyard.
