These arthropods include shrimps, crabs and lobsters. They are all aquatic, except for woodlice which live on land. They are all invertebrates (have no back bone) and have ten legs. They all have an exoskeleton (a hard outside shell).

Crabs have five pairs of legs, the first pair bearing claws (pincers). Crabs have a pair of eyes on short, movable stalks and many mouthparts. They tend to move sideways but can move in all directions.
Shrimp are small crustaceans with 10 jointed legs and a nearly cylindrical, translucent body. Unlike lobsters and crabs, which are crawlers, shrimp are swimmers. Some grow to 23 cm long, but most are smaller. One of the most popular crustacean foods, shrimp are fished throughout the world.
