ganesh.jpg (20426 bytes) Ganesh is the elephant headed god. He is worshipped by Hindus. Ganesh is the son of Shiva and Parvati.  His father, Shiva, cut off the head of his son without realising what he had done. Shiva vowed to replace the head with the first animal he came across, which was an elephant.
