A sari is a traditional woman's clothing. It is worn throughout India for both everyday use and special occasions. It is normally about six metres in length. There are different ways of wearing it, but, basically, it is wrapped around the body and over the shoulder and tucked, sometimes without even using a pin. Some younger people now wear salwar and khameez, but saris remain very popular for special occasions.
