Autumn Term Changes

This year the Community ICT project can move away from being solely about the Internet, and work can be developed around other areas if ICT. However, after going into the possibility of providing NOF training for pyramid schools, as discussed at the last liaison meeting, I’m afraid this won’t be on offer.

Each school will be initially allocated six sessions, to use as they wish. This could be either assisting staff in training, for which we can offer two afternoons supply cover, and/or working with a group of children on a designated project.

Possible projects could include…..

Both Key Stages:

Modelling using Excel
Using Clicker 4 or Story Maker to support writing
Databases using Junior Pinpoint
Supporting the art curriculum using Dazzle
Branching Databases using Decision Tree or Flexitree

Key Stage 1:

Finding information using CDROMs (My First Dictionary, World Explorer etc.)
Using Web Sites (Synagogue, Art from India, Materials, Forces, habitats etc.
Representing Information graphically using Counter

Key Stage 2:

Creating Web Sites using Publisher and Front Page 2000
Using Publisher to create a school newsletter
Data logging
Emailing pen pals
Modelling/Programming using Excel
Exploring simulation with Crystal Rainforest/Map Detectives
Searching the Internet for information, and then using that information to create a report
Multimedia presentations using Powerpoint or Publisher
Robolab - control technology
Graphical modelling using Seriph Draw Plus
