Below you can find details of the course provided for returning teachers/supply teachers and teachers who are seriously unconfident about using computers in the classroom

Aim:

To introduce returning teachers to recent changes and developments in the curriculum.
To give returning teachers an opportunity to have hands on experience of using SLAMnet computers with someone to help close by

Course duration:

1 day for shadowing a teacher - half day for real beginners for computing

Method:

For teachers who have been out of teaching for a long time and would like to find out more about the new curriculum developments, the opportunity exists to shadow a teacher at Sir Robert Hitcham’s Primary School. There will also be an opportunity for discussing issues that a returning teacher might have. There will be no supply cover for this part of the course.

For real beginners with computing, this course is to acquaint themselves with the Suffolk SLAMnet computers. It applies to any teachers, whether thinking of returning, or already started, who would like to come in for an afternoon session of hands-on computer experience. A contribution of £50 will be provided for supply cover to teachers who would normally be employed on the afternoon of the course on completion of a short course evaluation sheet.
