On July 29th. the courtyard opposite the Library was officially opened. It was named in honour of Mr Terry Gilder who was head here for 19 years before Mrs Elphick. When he arrived he had no idea of what was in store as the plaque was covered over. So when Mr Bird revealed the inscription it was a big surprize!
All the staff and most of the governors were there for the opening, together with former teacher, Mr Walker, former secretary Mrs Hambling and six ex-pupils, some of whom remembered when the courtyard was part of our old playground. "I’ve still got the scar on my knee as a souvenir!" said one of them as they swapped stories about their schooldays!

So now whenever we use the lovely courtyard we shall remember Mr Gilder.
