Heller String Quartet
Up Heller String Quartet Harp Music Rock The Baby

We went to listen to a string quartet in the hall. A string quartet has two violinists, one viola, and a cello. These are the players:

Nicholas - violin

Sandy - violin

Sheila - viola

Mandy - cello

Some of the music they played was Tudor, Fiesta, which had some marching in it, and the beginning of Beethoven's 5th symphony. One tune, called Plink, Plank, Plunk, was plucked instead of bowed. Plucking the strings made the instruments go out of tune.

A violin was the highest Instrument of them all. Violins on the top are made of softwood and hardwood on the back and sides and hollow in the middle. The viola is the second highest and is bigger than a violin. you use a violin and a viola under your chin.

A cello is bigger than a viola and a violin. Mandy's cello was over 200 years old. Playing a  cello is different because you put it over your shoulder. You put a rubber thing on the floor to make it stay.
