November 1999

On Thursday we went to the High Suffolk Primary Schools Sports Association soccer tournament at Fressingfield. On the way there everyone was nervous. When we were there we changed into our boots, all wondering if we were going to make it to the top.

In our first match we played some promising football against Debenham B and won 2-0. Both goals were scored by Ed and that put our hopes up.

Our second match was against Laxfield where Jack almost scored a great goal, but sadly it hit both posts and then fell into the hands of the goalkeeper and we drew 0-0.

In our third match we were very anxious because we knew that if we didn’t win we would be out and we had to win the next one too. In the game, Jack smashed one in the back of the net. Next came a pass from Ben to Louis who hit it to the goalie, but the goalie fumbled it and the score was 2-0. Just before the match had ended, a cross from Ed rolled to Louis who put it in for a 3-0 win.

This match was again to stop us from being knocked out. We were not too confident about this game, but when the keeper didn’t hold the ball Ben was there to finish it off. The next goal was banged into the back of the net by Louis to seal it for a 2-0 victory.

The semis were hard. Our match was against Stradbroke, but we had no fear of them scoring because our defender Will had not been passed yet and our goalie Joe had kept a clean sheet with some terrific saves. At first we were 1-0 down at halftime. A good pass from Jack sent Louis for a terrific goal

It was 1-1 now and then Ben back-heeled it to Louis who passed three defenders and put it in the exact same place as the first goal and we were through to the FINALS!

The score at half time was 0-0. Then a pass from Jack to Louis sent Ed through and he scored a clincher, putting us up 1-0. But then there was a shot which was saved by Joe. The danger didn’t stop there. Another striker came in, but Joe bravely jumped on the ball and got an injury by getting kicked in his heroic saves. When the full time whistle blew we went crazy with disbelief.

We would like to thank James, Liam and Will from the B team for cheering us on with "OH OH OH HOW GOOD IS FRAM A" and we would especially like to thank Sir who has trained us so well and will in the future. And the shield will hopefully be protected by next year’s team!
