In literacy hour we have been writing to our penpals in New Zealand. We are writing to people at a school in Katikati. We are writing to mostly 8 and 9 year olds.

In the New Zealand school there are 500 to 600 kids. We have been emailing the school for four or five weeks now. In a couple of weeks we are going to the high school to create a web site telling them about life in Framlingham. The people in literacy hour are taking a toy hedgehog home called Prickles and you write in a log book about what he did with you. It is called a travel buddy. We looked in some holiday brochures, at their emails and on the Internet to find out what we could. We found a place called Bay of Plenty and Katikati on the map.

This is what we found out about Katikati

The questions we asked the children in Katikati

These are the web sites to show the children in New Zealand what is is like in Framlingham. We received Powerpoint presentations from Katikati to find out about life in New Zealand.
