A Tallith is a prayer shawl
worn mainly by Jewish men and boys. It is worn over the head and shoulders during morning prayer. The prayer shawl may be made of silk, wool, or other fabric.
It is white, and often has blue or black stripes. It has 4 knotted tassels, one at each
corner, which act as a reminder of the laws of the Torah. A
new payer shawl may be presented to a thirteen year old boy at his Bar
mitzvah. |
